As soon as I saw the announcement of this Eyeliner Stamp, I had to buy it! I ordered it at Luardano - $14.90 USD. I went crazy, I was finally going to be able to make an eyeliner as it should be, without having to be 1h in attempt/error ahah. And it works!!
Como funciona? Fácil, mergulha-se o "carimbo" no frasco do eyeliner e aplica-se no canto do olho. O frasquinho tem uma esponja embebida em eyeliner e os "carimbos" são no que parece ser silicone e têm lado direito/lado esquerdo. Lava-se facilmente depois com água e sabão.

How does it work? Easy, dip the "stamp" into the eyeliner bottle and apply in the corner of the eye. The little bottle has a sponge soaked in eyeliner and the "stamps" are in what appears to be silicone and have right side/left side. Wash easily with soap and water after.
Depois é só completar o risco como quisermos. Eu usei o meu eyeliner habitual para isso. Fácil, não é? Para desmaquilhar, nota-se que é mais difícil de tirar do que o eyeliner normal, mas tira-se bem com água micelar. Dura o dia todo, sem esborratar.

Weekend with friends in Tomar, at Aqueduct Estate`s Retreat. Among other things, the wonderful Lago Azul River Beach, in Ferreira do Zêzere. Highly recommend the Maven Cafe, where we eat some nice burgers and toasts, with incredible fried potato chips!

Também gosto muito de ir à Praia Doce, em Salvaterra de Magos, uma praia fluvial que foi requalificada e é excelente para ir durante a semana (ao fim de semana está sobrelotada).

The Campsite of Escaroupim, to which I go since I was 11 years old. It's close to home and we get to spend great days there by the pool. I also really like going to Praia Doce, in Salvaterra de Magos, a river beach that has been requalified and is great to go during the week (in the weekend is overcrowded).
E, vivendo no campo, temos a sorte de ter paisagens destas, onde podemos relaxar, passear, apanhar amoras :) Zona ribeirinha de Benavente e Vala Nova, são alguns dos locais onde gostamos de ir frequentemente.

Fui convidada a escrever um post sobre design do futuro, uma reflexão sobre como penso ser o futuro do design, podendo escolher eu a área a divulgar. Na minha opinião, o futuro deve ir rebuscar um pouco as origens, tornar-se mais ecológico, procurar se preocupar com o planeta, as pessoas, a saúde, a natureza. Essa preocupação deveria ser incutida desde a escola, com as crianças, para que possamos sequer ter um futuro.
Lembrei-me então que tenho um amigo muito especial, o Vasco Silva, que tem agora o seu próprio negócio e que, para mim, é a imagem de como deve ser o design do futuro.
Bzalo Woodcraft
Bzalo Woodcraft nasceu da mistura de duas paixões. O prazer de trabalhar a madeira de uma forma manual e a paixão pelo surf.
As pranchas de Surf convencionais usam materiais tóxicos que não são biodegradáveis, têm uma vida média de 2 a 3 anos e podem demorar cerca de 500 anos a decompor.
As pranchas em madeira apareceram nos anos 30, desapareceram nos anos 60 devido ao aparecimento do poliuretano e da facilidade que havia em Shapar (dar forma) às pranchas. Hoje por motivos de consciência ambiental as pranchas de madeira estão a voltar e a fazer de novo algum impacto na comunidade do surf. Aos poucos é necessário ir trabalhando para consciencializar cada vez mais pessoas para esta causa. As pranchas que Bzalo Woodcraft constrói são 99% biodegradáveis, usam resinas não tóxicas feitas à base de plantas e podem durar uma vida inteira. No início não tinham meios para construir pranchas de surf então o Vasco foi começando pelas handplanes para bodysurf, um desporto em crescimento em Portugal. Com pouco mais do que um pedaço de madeira na mão e umas barbatanas a diversão é garantida. As famosas carreirinhas têm agora uma nova dimensão.
Logo de seguida e sempre na mesma onda veio a ideia de começar a fazer skates, umas longboards e uns cruisers para complementar todo esse cheiro a mar. O objecto perfeito para curtir aqueles fins de tarde na praia.
A ideia é em breve ter condições para expandir toda esta boa onda a muito mais gente criando workshops em que quem estiver interessado pode ir fazer a sua própria prancha de surf, skate ou hanplane.
Isto é o futuro!

I was invited to write a post about designing for the future, a reflection on what I think the future of design will be, entering a blogger's competition and I coul choose the area to talk about. In my opinion, the future must go in the direction of returning a little to the origins, becoming more ecological, worrying about the planet, people, health, nature. This concern should be instilled from school with the children so that we can even have a future.
Then I remembered that I have a very special friend, Vasco Silva, who now has his own business and who, for me, is the image of what the future design should look like.
Bzalo Woodcraft
Bzalo Woodcraft was born of the mixture of two passions. The pleasure of working the wood in a manual way and the passion for surfing.
Conventional surfboards use toxic materials that are not biodegradable, have an average life span of 2 to 3 years and can take up to 500 years to decompose.
Wood planks appeared in the 1930s, disappeared in the 1960s due to the appearance of polyurethane and the ease of Shapar (forming) the planks. Today, for reasons of environmental awareness, the wooden boards are coming back and again making some impact on the surf community. Gradually it is necessary to work to raise awareness of more people for this cause. The boards that Bzalo Woodcraft builds are 99% biodegradable, use non-toxic, plant-based resins and can last a lifetime. In the beginning they didn't have the means to build surfboards then Vasco began by the hand planes for body surf, a sport in growth in Portugal. With little more than a piece of wood in the hand and a few fins the fun is guaranteed. The famous "carreirinhas" now have a new dimension.
Soon after and always on the same wave, came the idea of starting to make skateboards, long boards and cruisers to complement all that sea smell. The perfect object to enjoy those late afternoon at the beach.
The idea is to soon be able to expand all this good wave to many more people, creating workshops in which anyone who is interested can go make their own surfboard, skateboard or hanplane
This is the future!

Hoje trago um post muito pessoal, trago-vos um bocadinho de mim.
Há dez anos, na altura com 27 anos, engravidávamos pela primeira vez. Estreantes, fomos eufóricos à ecografia das 12 semanas, mas percebemos rápido que o médico demorava tempo demais calado a olhar para o ecrã. Entrámos inocentes com um DVD para gravar a ecografia e saímos com uma sentença de aborto. O feto tinha uma grave má formação, Anencefalia, o crânio não fechou, não havia cérebro. Foi tudo muito rápido, ecografia de confirmação na Estefânia e aborto provocado numa semana.
Estive um mês sem querer ver ninguém, só chorava. Levou dois anos até ganharmos coragem de tentar novamente.
Segunda gravidez, um stress desde o início com o receio de voltar a haver uma má formação, o Bernardo nem olhava para o ecrã da ecografia às 12 semanas. Estava tudo bem, era um saudável rapaz. Mesmo assim, o receio permaneceu até às 21 semanas, até à ecografia morfológica. Estava mesmo tudo bem. Finalmente descansámos. Não foi por muito tempo... às 28 semanas entrei em trabalho de parto e o Gustavo nasceu muito antes do tempo. Dois meses e meio internado na neonatologia do Hospital São Francisco Xavier. Durante o primeiro mês e meio não sabíamos sequer se ele ia sobreviver. E, caso sobrevivesse, se iria ter sequelas na sua vida futura. As enfermeiras e os outros pais da neonatologia passaram a ser a nossa segunda família. Aprendi a deixar de ter certezas, a deixar de fazer planos, a viver um dia de cada vez. Correu tudo bem, o Gustavo tem hoje 7 anos, é super inteligente, super energético e super saudável. Passaríamos por todo o sofrimento novamente para o ter, tudo valeu a pena.
Sou filha única e nunca quis ter só um filho. Quatro anos depois do Gustavo nascer, resolvemos ter outro filho. Um ano a tentar e lá veio a boa notícia. Desta vez, a gravidez foi acompanhada desde o início por uma obstetra perita em gravidezes difíceis. Progesterona, magnésio e repouso a partir das 25 semanas. Afinal o problema era o colo do útero, insuficiência do colo do útero, às 28 semanas o colo do útero já só tinha metade da espessura que devia ter. Desta vez, a gravidez foi até às 33 semanas. Nascia o Edgar, que precisou de estar 15 dias internado para basicamente aprender a mamar. Faz o mês que vem dois anos. Reguila, personalidade forte, lindíssimo e também saudável.
Sempre quis ter uma menina. Ter dois rapazes é maravilhoso, sou a eterna rainha da casa, com dois fãs incondicionais. Mas gostava muito de ter uma rapariga. Tenho pensado muito sobre isso, seria agora a altura ideal, mas parece-me um capricho. Tenho receio de estar a abusar da sorte. Não é mais uma gravidez de risco ou mais um prematuro que me assusta. É o poder estar a privar os meus dois filhos de atenção e de experiências e bens materiais que implica financeiramente ter um terceiro filho ou filha, sem garantia nenhuma sequer de vir uma menina. Somos tão felizes os quatro, às vezes olho para eles três e sinto-me tão abençoada. Se a vida entretanto melhorar financeiramente, quem sabe um dia pensamos nisso, mas agora tenho tudo o que preciso.
Obrigado por lerem este pequeno desabafo, um bocadinho de mim. Espero que possa ajudar alguém que tenha passado pelo mesmo ou que inspire o vosso futuro. Tudo vale a pena por eles, acreditem.

Ten years ago, at the age of 27, we became pregnant for the first time. First-timers, we were euphoric at the 12-week ultrasound scan, but we quickly realized that the doctor was taking too long looking at the screen, not saying a word. We went in with a DVD to record the ultrasound and we came out with an abortion sentence. The fetus had a severe malformation, Anencephaly, the skull didn’t close, there was no brain. It was all very fast, confirmation ultrasound and abortion provoked in a week.
I didn’t want to see anyone for a month, I just cried. It took us two years before we got the courage to try again.
Second pregnancy, a stress from the beginning with the fear of a malformation again, Bernardo didn’t even look at the ultrasound screen at 12 weeks. It was all right, he was a healthy boy. Even so, the fear remained until 21 weeks, until morphological ultrasound. It was all good. We finally rested. It wasn’t for long ... at 28 weeks I went into labor and Gustavo was born long before time. Two and a half months in the neonatology. For the first month and a half we didn’t even know if he was going to survive. And if he did, had no idea if there would be sequelae in his future life. Nurses and other parents of neonatology became our second family. I learned to stop being sure about things, to stop making plans, to live one day at a time. It went well, Gustavo is 7 years old, he is super intelligent, super energetic and super healthy. We would go through all the suffering again to have him, it was all worth it.
I'm an only child and I never wanted to have just one kid. Four years after Gustavo was born, we decided to have another child. A year to try and there came the good news. This time, pregnancy was monitored from the beginning by an obstetrician expert in difficult pregnancies. Progesterone, magnesium and resting at 25 weeks. After all, the problem was the cervix, the cervical insufficiency, at 28 weeks the cervix was only half as thick as it should have. This time, the pregnancy was up to 33 weeks. Edgar was born, needed to be hospitalized for 15 days to basically learn how to nurse. He will be two years old next month. Strong personality, beautiful and also healthy.
I always wanted to have a girl. Having two boys is wonderful, I am the eternal queen of the house, with two unconditional fans. But I really enjoyed having a girl. I've been thinking about it a lot, it would be the ideal time now, but it seems like a whim. I'm afraid I'm taking advantage of good luck. It is no longer a risky pregnancy or a premature baby that frightens me. It’s the thought of depriving my two kids of attention and experiences and material possessions that financially imply having a third son or daughter, with no guarantee even to have a girl. We are so happy, sometimes I look at them three and I feel so blessed. If life improves though financially, maybe one day we’ll think about it, but now I have everything I need.

Quando chega o calor, a primeira coisa que faço é largar os jeans. Não consigo senti-los colados às pernas! Parto para as calças de tecido leve e boémio ou para as saias e vestidos.
Estas calças comprei numa barraquinha de artesanato no Jardim Visconde da Luz, em Cascais, no verão passado. Se não me engano, custaram uns 15€. O tecido é super leve, adoro a mistura de azul com verde e as aberturas laterais nas pernas. Viva o calor e a pouca roupa!

When the heat comes, the first thing I do is drop the jeans. I cannot feel them stuck to my legs! I start wearing lightweight and bohemian fabric pants, skirts or dresses.
These pants I bought at a craft tent in Jardim Visconde da Luz, in Cascais, last summer. If I'm not mistaken, it cost about € 15. The fabric is super light, I love the blend of blue with green and the lateral vents on the legs. Long live the heat and the little clothes!

It arrived fast, it has an attractive design, very cheap (AU $1.00), but I didn't see any effects. The instructions in English are terrible, I don't even know if I did everything correctly, if I followed the three supposed steps. But in none of the steps did I see the results they show in the product photos. My nose has become softer and brighter, that's it.

Chegou rapidíssimo, tudo ok, super barato (0.31€ na altura). Estava cheia de esperança de finalmente conseguir fazer um eyeliner lindíssimo e fácil, mas não consegui...o stencil é demasiado grande, acabei por cortar peça a peça para ser mais fácil de usar. Mesmo assim, só consigo algum efeito com sombra e não com eyeliner, porque é preciso colar à pálpebra e não fica direitinho o risco, acabo por ter o mesmo trabalho que fazer sem molde... :(

It arrived fast, everything ok, super cheap (US $0.35 at the time). I was full of hope of finally being able to make a beautiful and easy eyeliner, but I couldn't...the stencil is too big, I ended up cutting it piece by piece to be easier to use. Even so, I only get some effect with shade and not with eyeliner, because it is necessary to almost glue to the eyelid and it doesn't look finished, I end up having the same work then without the stencil... :(

Agora a tatuagem! Já vos tinha falado na Filipa Vargas num post anterior, fez-me a tatuagem da minha loba que eu adoro. No natal ofereci um voucher de 50€ ao Bernardo para ele gastar numa tatuagem com a Filipa e claro que eu aproveitei e fui fazer a minha libelinha.
Eu fui a primeira e estava tão satisfeita com o almoço que, deitada e com a máquina a vibrar perto do meu ouvido, adormeci...só eu...não me doeu quase nada e adorei o resultado.
No final, em vez de cobrir a tatuagem com o tradicional plástico filme, a Filipa colocou um plástico adesivo da Dermalize que se tira passadas 24h, lava-se a tatuagem e volta-se a colocar um novo adesivo que fica até cair. Retirei o meu passados 5 dias porque já estava a fazer reação à volta da tatuagem e a tatuagem parece cicatrizada completamente, embora eu coloque pomada duas vezes ao dia (Cicaplast Baume B5 com fator de proteção 50). Este adesivo é à prova de água, faz barreira antibacteriana, é respirável, flexível, parece uma segunda pele. Evitou a comichão, a fricção com a roupa, o colocar pomada, adorei!

Now the tattoo! I had already written about Filipa Vargas in a previous post, she made my wolf that I absolutely love. At Christmas I offered a voucher of 50€ to Bernardo for him to spend on a tattoo with Filipa and of course I went with him to make my dragonfly.
I was the first one and was so satisfied with lunch that, lying down and with the machine vibrating near my ear, I fell asleep ...only me... it didn't hurt at all and I loved the result.

Óleo de Amêndoas Doces
Foi dica de uma colega durante a minha gravidez e funciona! Tomo banho e, enquanto ainda estou molhada, passo óleo de amêndoas doces em todo o corpo, passo só um pouco por água a seguir e limpo-me normalmente. Não fica demasiado oleoso e a pele fica super hidratada. É um excelente hidratante e ajuda a reduzir a inflamação da pele. Compro embalagens de litro na farmácia, fica mais barato ;) Devo confessar que no inverno não ligo nenhuma à hidratação corporal...

Sweet Almond Oil
It was a colleague's tip during my pregnancy and it works! I bathe and, while I'm still wet, I pass sweet almond oil all over the body, I just go through the water a little again and clean myself normally. It does not get too oily and the skin gets super hydrated. It is an excellent moisturizer and helps reduce inflammation of the skin. I buy liter bottles at the pharmacy, it gets cheaper ;) I must confess that in the winter I don't care about body hydration...

A vaselina evita a perda de água da pele e foi também uma dica de uma colega. Durante o verão, uso para hidratar os pés e os lábios antes de me deitar. No inverno, uso para os lábios e mãos, ao deitar também. Barato e eficiente.
