A melhor forma de celebrar o meu dia de folga pelo meu aniversário só podia ser um almoço no Chiado e uma nova Tattoo!
Já queria fazer uma libelinha há muito tempo, que me representa.
A melhor definição de libelinha que encontrei podem ver aqui:
a libelinha é o símbolo da transformação e o processo constante de mudança da vida; elas são excelentes voadoras, disparam como a luz e mudam de direção com rapidez; considerada uma mensageira, ela transita entre ar e água, transpassando as influências de ambos os elementos por onde passa.

The best way to celebrate my day off for my anniversary was a lunch at Chiado followed by a new tattoo :)

I already wanted to make a dragonfy a long time ago, which represents me.
This is the best definition of the dragonfly, found here:

Mas comecemos pelo almoço - Organi Chiado - alimentos que vêm da terra, biológicos e de elevada qualidade, na Calçada Nova de São Francisco 2, em Lisboa. Foi uma agradável surpresa! Eu comi Tofu Espiritual, o Bernardo pediu o Burguer de Grão, ambos divinais: o sabor, os molhos, a quantidade de comida. Aprovadíssimo!

But let's start by lunch - Organi Chiado - organic, high-quality food from the earth at Calçada Nova de São Francisco 2, in Lisbon. It was a pleasant surprise! I ate Spiritual Tofu, Bernardo asked Chickpea Burger, both divine: the taste, the sauces, the amount of food. Recommended!

Agora a tatuagem! Já vos tinha falado na Filipa Vargas num post anterior, fez-me a tatuagem da minha loba que eu adoro. No natal ofereci um voucher de 50€ ao Bernardo para ele gastar numa tatuagem com a Filipa e claro que eu aproveitei e fui fazer a minha libelinha.
Eu fui a primeira e estava tão satisfeita com o almoço que, deitada e com a máquina a vibrar perto do meu ouvido, adormeci...só eu...não me doeu quase nada e adorei o resultado.
No final, em vez de cobrir a tatuagem com o tradicional plástico filme, a Filipa colocou um plástico adesivo da Dermalize que se tira passadas 24h, lava-se a tatuagem e volta-se a colocar um novo adesivo que fica até cair. Retirei o meu passados 5 dias porque já estava a fazer reação à volta da tatuagem e a tatuagem parece cicatrizada completamente, embora eu coloque pomada duas vezes ao dia (Cicaplast Baume B5 com fator de proteção 50). Este adesivo é à prova de água, faz barreira antibacteriana, é respirável, flexível, parece uma segunda pele. Evitou a comichão, a fricção com a roupa, o colocar pomada, adorei!

Now the tattoo! I had already written about Filipa Vargas in a previous post, she made my wolf that I absolutely love. At Christmas I offered a voucher of 50€ to Bernardo for him to spend on a tattoo with Filipa and of course I went with him to make my dragonfly.
I was the first one and was so satisfied with lunch that, lying down and with the machine vibrating near my ear, I fell asleep ...only me... it didn't hurt at all and I loved the result.
In the end, instead of covering the tattoo with the traditional plastic film, Filipa put a plastic adhesive from Dermalize that is taken after 24 hours, then wash the tattoo and put on a new adhesive that stays until it falls. I removed mine past 5 days because I was already reacting around the tattoo and the tattoo seems to be completely healed, although I do put ointment twice a day (Cicaplast Baume B5 with protection factor 50). This adhesive is waterproof, an antibacterial barrier, is breathable, flexible, looks like a second skin. Avoided the itching, the rubbing of the clothes, the ointment, I loved it!

Fazer tatuagens é um vicio...mal fiz a primeira, vi logo que não ia parar facilmente. Vou em cinco, neste momento, em breve virá a sexta e não tenciono parar já.

A primeira tatuagem foi algo pequeno, a preto, para eu poder ver primeiro se aguentava bem a dor e se não me arrependia mais tarde. Isto já foi há 10 anos, decidi usar estrelas em homenagem a uma primeira gravidez que tive de interromper por má formação em 2007. Fiz aqui perto de casa, provavelmente no primeiro sítio que encontrei.

Getting tattoos is addicting...As soon as I did the first one, I realized that I was not going to stop easily. I have five right now, going to the sixth and I don’t intend to stop.

For my first tattoo I wanted something small, in black, so I could see first if I could handle the pain well and if I wouldn’t regret it later. That was 10 years ago, I decided to use stars in honor of a first pregnancy that I had to interrupt due to malformation in 2007. I made it close to home, probably in the first place I found at the time.

A segunda tatuagem tinha já o meu primeiro filho uns 2 anos, por isso deve ter sido há uns cinco anos. Tatuei o nome dele nas costas, a preto. Aproveitei uma promoção do site Groupon na altura e fui a um tatuador que não conhecia. Depois da tatuagem, aconselhou-me a comprar o gel de limpeza e creme de cicatrização da própria loja de tatuagens, que se fosse hoje, não tinha comprado, vamos aprendendo. Também acho que esta tatuagem tende a desbotar mais que as outras que tenho.

The second tattoo, my first child was about 2 years old, so it must have been about five years ago. I tattooed his name on the back, in black. I used a Groupon promotion at the time and went to a tattoo artist I didn’t know. A terceira tatuagem fiz no ano seguinte, em 2013, faz 4 anos. Foi também através de uma promoção da Groupon e foi a minha estreia nas tatuagens a cores. Ia com ideia de fazer a preto (pelo preço) e o tatuador disse que me fazia pelo mesmo preço a cores. Arrisquei, porque foi a gosto dele, e adorei o resultado. Escolhi uma âncora, que representa o meu pai (é marinheiro e apaixonado pelo mar) e a flor para representar a minha mãe. Decidi fazer no antebraço esquerdo onde tenho uma cicatriz de infância de um gato nosso que deixou muitas saudades, assim ficou tudo em família :)

The third tattoo I did the year after, in 2013, 4 years ago. It was also through a Groupon promotion and it was my initiation in color tattoos. I was thinking of making it black (for the price), but the tattoo artist said he would make it color for the same price. I risked it, because the colors were going to be a surprise, and I loved the result. I chose an anchor, which represents my father (he is a sailor and passionate about the sea) and the flower to represent my mother. I decided to do on the left forearm where I have a childhood scar from a cat of ours that left me very homesick, so it was all in the family :)

A quarta tatuagem era obrigatória, o nome do meu segundo filho, o ano passado. Decidi de um dia para o outro e marquei para o próprio dia. Escolhi uma letra feminina, por baixo da clavícula direita.

A quinta tatuagem foi uma espécie de surpresa para mim. Eu e o meu marido fizemos 16 anos de estarmos juntos e ele sugeriu que fizéssemos ambos uma tatuagem semelhante, com valor sentimental, sem ser demasiado óbvia. Para mim foi a euforia total porque ele finalmente quis fazer uma tatuagem (já ficou viciado também, claro). Escolhemos a dedo uma tatuadora que ambos gostávamos do estilo e trabalho dela e não desiludiu nada mesmo. Adorei o trabalho da Filipa, ela é realmente muito talentosa! Escolhemos fazer um animal, versão masculina e feminina e fomos para o lobo. Fiz uma loba em dotwork com apontamento de cor, no interior da perna direita.

The fifth tattoo was kind of a surprise to me. My husband and I made 16 years of being together and he suggested we both make a similar tattoo, with sentimental value, without being too obvious. For me it was the total euphoria because he finally wanted to get a tattoo (he got addicted too, of course). We handpicked a tattoo artist that we both liked her style and work and didn’t disappoint at all. I loved Filipa's work, she's really very talented! We chose to make an animal, male and female version, and we went for the wolf. I made a female wolf in dotwork with some color note, inside the right leg.

Se me perguntarem se doeu muito, nem por isso. Ou tenho uma boa resistência à dor, ou sou algo insensível. É uma dor totalmente aceitável, algumas partes das tatuagens nem senti sequer. A última, não sei se por ser na parte interna da perna ou do facto da agulha do contorno ser mais grossa, doeu razoavelmente em algumas partes, mas aguenta-se.
A próxima já está pensada, será na Filipa novamente e será uma libelinha a preto na clavícula esquerda ;)
E vocês, têm tatuagens? Sugerem bons tatuadores/as?

If you ask me, did it hurt? Not really. Either I have a good resistance to pain, or I'm insensitive. It's a totally acceptable pain, some parts of the tattoos I didn’t even feel. The last one, I don’t know if it's because it was on the inner part of the leg or the fact that the contour needle was thicker, it hurt reasonably in some places, but it's a bearable pain.
The next one is already thought, it will be at Filipa again and it will be a black dragonfly on the left clavicle ;)
What about you, do you have tattoos? Do you suggest good tattooers?
